Whilst in some parts of Kent fell to 0c, parts of Sutherland in Scotland were reaching between 16c and 18c in the early hours of the morning of Sunday 29th December 2019. Inchnadamph in North West Sutherland reached 18.4c at 2.15am and the Met Office site at Cassley (also in Sutherland) reached 16.8c at 3am . According to the Met Office, this is the highest temperature ever recorded at this time of the year.
