It was the coldest night of the Autumn so far with the temperature at Bracewell in Lancashire falling to a bone chilling -10.3c. The coldest official met office station was Shap in Cumbria which fell to -8.7c. Bracewell was not the only amateur weather station (PWS) recording -10c or below. Three other stations located in Biggar (Lanarkshire), Langwathby (cumbria) and Broughton (Scottish Borders) also fell below -10c
