Beast From the East in Meopham
Coldest night of the year in Meopham, Kent and I recorded an overnight minimum temperature of -9.4c on the morning of Wednesday 28th February 2018. This was the scene on the Wrotham Road in Meopham around 8am, near The Parade. Perfect conditions, snow covered ground with absolutely clear skies.
However, Meopham was by no means the coldest place overnight, nearby New Ash Green on the border with Ridley, fell to a staggering -15.3c, Cuxton recorded -15.2c and the lowest in the UK was recorded in Muddy lane, Sittingbourne which recorded an incredible -17.4c (This has now been updated, a COL weather station at Boughton-under-Blean recorded an overnight minimum temperature of -17.9c) **Updated 28/Nov/22
